I’ve waited 3 years to make this announcement, and finally I can say with certainty Preemo will open its first retail location in Q1 of 2012. When I started the business in 2009, my initial intention was to have a retail space that would serve as a hub, for technology repairs, advice, and product sales. It took quite a bit of time, and a number of side roads to get there – but we’re here. It will take a few months to build out and great our operations there – but we hope to open sometime in March-April of next year.
The store will be located at 7356 Red Road, South Miami, FL 33143 – in the heart of South Miami. We’ll be in what’s called the “Blue Mall” – and we’ll be neighbors with your favorite business like Mojito Grill, Cafe Pastis, Capital Bank, and American Chariots.
Features & Construction
January 4th we will start demolition and the installation of a new A/C unit as well as rewiring all the electrical including a new breaker panel. Following that, we will be splitting the space that is currently held by Paper Boutique – and building the inside of the store.
The store will be split in half (front/back house) and each section will serve a specific purpose. The storefront will act as our point of communication, where clients can bring in the computers, phones, any technology questions they might have – and get the answers they need. We’ll have a comfortable waiting area for clients that will need immediate service, complete with iPads to keep you entertained while you wait.
In the back will be our service hub, complete with 15 tech benches for immediate service, storage for 200 laptops and desktops, and all the necessary tools to get the job done. In addition to the existing hurricane shutters, we’ll be installing a top-notch security system complete with alarm and cameras, making sure our customers and their computers are safe.
In general, the services offered at our new location will be the same as our current one. We offer computer repair services, for both Mac and PC products, delivered in a reasonable time at a fair price. We can service any of the following devices:
- Desktop Computers (all brands, including custom built)
- Laptop Computers (all brands, including touchscreen)
- Tablet PCs (iPad, Galaxy Tab, etc)
- Mobile Phones (iPhone, Blackberry, Android, etc)
- Audio Players (iPod, iPod Shuffle, Zune)
- Gaming Systems (Playstation 3, XBOX 360, Nintendo Wii)
We’re also planning on offering some business center services, such as copier, scanner, fax, and printer. If you’re in the South Miami area, and happen to need a quick copy, or to scan an important document – we’ll be happy to help.
Lastly, we’ll have a forum of some kind to discuss our online services, including website development and marketing campaigns for small businesses. We want the store to serve small business owners, not just individual computer users. A business of less than 5 employees typically will not need any kind of in-house IT department – but really just needs some good advice, and to be pointed in the right direction when it comes to selecting choices for email, hosting, storage, backup, etc. Preemo can help you get started from scratch, or improve your existing setup – by listening to your needs, and providing the best possible solution.
After some careful thought, we’ve decided to revamp the pricing structure for our retail, in-store services. Previous, we priced based on the individual service so Virus Removal = $99, etc. But we’ve noticed that different customers have varying degrees of urgency, and we treat all of them the same. We’ve created a new pricing structure to put an emphasis on urgency – allowing the customer to let us know how soon they need their computer back. Naturally, with a speedier turnaround time, the price will be higher – but we believe that giving the customer control over the turnaround time will make them feel empowered, and more comfortable with the time it will take to get their computer back.
We’re also working on some changes to our IT Services pricing, as well as some block hour purchasing products.
I’m in awe as this dream called Preemo grows in front of me. It’s a product of 3 years of hard work and effort by our dedicated team. I’m so grateful to be surrounded by such great people – they are the core of this business, and will be what pushes us to the next level. We’re also getting better at meeting and exceeding customer expectations – with turnaround time, service quality, and overall experience.
